How to Walk Safely to School with the Ballan Road Closures

Ballan Road Intersection Upgrade: closure of McGrath Road south and Greens Road, reopening McGrath Road north
We’re upgrading the intersection of Ballan, McGrath and Greens roads in Wyndham Vale. The upgrade will improve traffic flow through the intersection, and make it safer for people driving, walking and cycling through the area.

From Monday 22 June until early 2027, Greens Road and McGrath Road south will be closed at Ballan Road while we build the southern half of the new intersection. McGrath Road north will also reopen from 5am.
Before this, there will be overnight and a weekend closure of Ballan Road and the intersection between Thursday 18 June and Monday 22 June.

What we’re doing and when

From 5am, Monday 22 June, we’ll re-open McGrath Road north at Ballan Road to left in, left out traffic.
Short-term closures of Ballan Road and the intersection – 18 June to 22 June
To move into the next stage of works, we’ll work from Thursday 18 June at night through to Monday 22 June in the morning.
