As Principal of Iramoo Primary School, I am very proud of the way our whole school community unite and work together to ensure that our school environment is safe and a calm place to learn allowing all students to thrive. Our staff and families work together through all circumstances to ensure that the welfare, wellbeing and education of all students is always a priority.
Our school has provided outstanding education for local children since it was established in 1978. Iramoo has a tradition of promoting student excellence in literacy and numeracy. We currently provide students with specialised classes in Physical Education, all areas of the Arts, Spanish language and Digital Technology including a 1:1 iPad program for all students from Years 4-6.
Iramoo has a population of approximately 600 students. Our school strives to maintain relatively small class sizes with a current average of approximately 24 students per grade arranged in straight year level classes from Prep – Year 6. Iramoo is a richly diverse community where students develop strong intercultural understanding, tolerance and respectful relationships with others. Staff, students and the members of our community are expected to model our school values and behaviours of respect, responsibility and relationships. Each year our stakeholder surveys show very clearly that our students, staff and parents/carers hold the school in very high regard.
Our school is extremely well resourced and has modern buildings and grounds that are maintained to a high standard. Iramoo’s very well-presented classrooms and impressive external environment provide students with several adventure playground areas in addition to very attractive outdoor learning and passive recreation areas.
The purpose of Iramoo Primary School is to create an environment in which our children thrive and all available human and physical resources are devoted to this goal.
